Acupuncture treatments: Acupuncture treatments last anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes and are very relaxing. They are done on a massage table, and you remain as clothed as possible. The practitioner may work on the back, on the front of the body, or both. If any other modalities seem appropriate, the practitioner will discuss this with you at the time of treatment, The practitioner determines which points to choose based upon information given by the patient, and a Chinese medical assessment of the person’s constitution based upon several factors including tongue and pulse diagnoses. Sensitivity to needles is always taken into consideration.
Electro Acupuncture: Is the sending of electric current between two needles. A tingling or slight buzzing sensation is often reported. It is very effective for acute, stubborn, and/or chronic pain, and is usually done as part of a standard acupuncture treatment.
Facial Acupuncture: Cosmetic acupuncture treatments last anywhere from 75 to 90 minutes. They involve a multi step process that leaves the client feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated! Eyes sparkle and skin glows after facial rejuvenation. Effects of facial needling may be noticed right away or may take several sessions, depending upon the person. It is effective at lifting sagging skin, drooping eyelids, toning and nourishing the skin, and diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Treatments begin with a clinical health assessment and full acupuncture treatment on the front of the body. A relaxing Tui Na treatment is done on the face and head, followed by application of a heated Chinese herbal poultice chosen according to skin type. Facial needling follows according to the client’s concerns, and a mini sound healing is administered with tuning forks. The face needles are left in for about 15 minutes then removed and an astringing, nourishing, tonifying herbal egg white mask is painted on. As this dries, the rest of the needles are removed. The egg white mask is then removed, and an appropriate moisturizer is applied. Jade rollers then cool the skin, and you’re ready to go! Depending upon what the client wishes to achieve, anywhere from one to twenty treatments are advisable.
Herbal Consultation: This type of treatment involves a full Chinese medicine diagnosis of the tongue, pulse, and general overall condition of ones health. Each person will given a constitutional analysis unique to his/her particular body type and will be prescribed the appropriate herbal formula to suit their needs.
Ear Acupuncture / Addiction Acupuncture: The National Acupuncture Detox Association’s 5 needle protocol. Five points on each ear are stimulated with very tiny needles that are left in for 30 to 45 minutes. Usually done in a group setting, patients are seated in comfortable chairs with soft lighting and gentle background music. The effects of the NADA protocol are documented in many scientific studies and are proven effective at relieving cravings, stress, anxiety, and allowing for a person to completely relax.
30 Minute Relaxation Treatment: Perfect for lunch hour! Not a replacement for a full treatment as a full intake is not done, but a great option for stress relief. Allow stress, tension, and worry drift away as you relax on the table with the assistance of 5-6 acupoints. Vibrational sound through tuning forks is also applied to 4 points to help you fall into a deep state of relaxation.
Group Acupuncture: Up to 12 acupuncture meridian points are needled below the elbows, below the knees, and on the head. Usually done in a group setting, this is an affordable treatment that lasts about 30 minutes. Participants sit in relaxing chairs with soft lighting and music and are allowed to relax.
Ayurvedic Consultations: Involve an in-depth interview with the client. The practitioner will take the person’s pulse for some time, and look at their tongue. From these three sources of information, the client’s constitution at birth (prakriti), variants in birth constitution (deha), and present moment constitution may be determined (vikruti). The practitioner and client can then discuss reasonable options for improving lifestyle, and the possibility of herbal dietary supplementation. Sessions are usually 60 to 90 minutes. The first session needs to be done by 9:30am on an empty stomach (water is ok), with no caffeine intake. Please wear comfortable clothing, and remove wrist jewelry.
