REIKI LEVEL 2

Reiki II training is a continuation of Reiki I.  In Reiki II, in addition to hands on treatments, students learn how to use Reiki without touching a person’s body.  In fact, in Reiki II we explore how to use Reiki at a distance.  This distance can be across a room or across the globe, it doesn’t matter.  We can also use Reiki to address past or future life issues.  Students receive another Reiki attunement, also referred to as an empowerment or transmission.  Three of the sacred Reiki symbols and their mantras are also introduced. Students learn what these symbols are used for, and how to draw and pronounce them. Information about chakra diagnosis and healing is introduced as well as the concept of koshas.  New and old techniques are practiced during class so that participants feel confident when they leave with practicing on their own and treating others.  Also included in Reiki II training is discussion on how to have a Reiki practice.

To participate is Reiki Level 2 training, you must be certified in Level one by Bridgette or another Reiki Master. Please bring your certificate to class unless you received it from Bridgette Shea.

The cost for the one day training is $195, which includes William Lee Rand’s Reiki I & II Manual. Use the drop down menu below to chose your day.

Bring a notebook, and lunch

THE DHARMA OF BREATHING

Sunday, November 15

1:00–2:30 pm

$35 — Pre-Register at www.yogamandali.com

Join licensed acupuncturist Bridgette Shea for for this in-depth look at what constitutes an optimal, healthy breath.

Most of us suffer from abnormal breathing patterns that underlie the conscious breathing we usually focus on in yoga class. Second only to meditation, breathing well naturally, without trying, is the best thing we can do to preserve and cultivate good mental, emotional, and physical health.

In this 90 minute workshop, you will discover personal breathing imbalances so you can work toward transforming them into a more healthful breathing pattern. Bridgette will discuss what a natural, healthy breath is from the traditional standpoints of yoga, Ayurveda, western science, and Chinese medicine at both the subtle energy and physical body levels. Using this information and establishing a few minutes of regular breath awareness can create profound shifts in bodily comfort, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. You are guaranteed to learn something powerful about your very own breath!

Testimonial from 2 participants in last year's Intro To Ayurveda Workshop:

My husband and I took Bridgette Shea’s Ayurveda class that was sponsored by Namaste Yoga. We both were thrilled with the way that Bridget presented the material- offering very helpful information in a format that allowed us to learn along the way. We took what she offered immediately and started practicing the basic concepts starting week one. This class has transformed out health via weight loss, increased energy and a confidence that we are taking good care of our physical, emotional and spiritual health. We highly recommend the class to anyone wanting to learn about this ancient, amazing practice.

This class is open to only 5 participants, and some of those spots are already filled. We will meet twice in November, and coordinate the December date(s) around participant availability. The first class is November 7th in the treatment room at my home. Payment of $150 is due at the time of registration. Please contact me to register either by email:bridgette@agelessinsaratoga.com or by phone at 577-1183.

REIKI LEVEL 1

Reiki is a form of healing that combines universal life force (ki), intention, and your body's own natural ability to heal. Since Reiki I trains you to use Reiki for self healing, in this class you will learn how to open to the space that allows you to relax and heal. Participants will practice increasing energy and blood flow to the hands, and directing energy to areas of imbalance. Intuition is honed, attunements are given, and you will leave having experienced ki sensations and a sense of peace. Reiki is very gentle, subtle, yet profound. People who have trained with Bridgette in the past have reported such sweet experiences as a sense of calm to quitting an addiction, having stuck sensations leave the body, pain relief, lasting stress relief, and increased sensory awareness/improved vision.  Reiki imbues the practitioner with a deep sense of well-being.

Intro to Ayurveda

In this class we will explore the foundations of Ayurveda. Ayurvedic Medicine is a complete system as is modern day allopathic medicine. The difference is that Ayurveda sees the individual as completely connected to the external environment. It is a way of looking at the body, mind, and world and understanding how they work together to create either internal balance and harmony or discord. Topics addressed in this class include a brief history of the medicine, the idea of constitution or doshas, and general information on living a balanced life according to dosha or dinacharya.

Cost for this class is $20 in advance and $30 at the door.

Held at Ageless Acupuncture and taught by Bridgette Shea Kinder.  7:30-9pm on Tuesday September 9th 2014.  2 Franklin Square, Saratoga Springs, on the corner of Division and Franklin Streets.  Light refreshments will be served.

HERBAL WINTER WINE MAKING WORKSHOP

Learn how to keep your kidney chi and general health strong during the cold winter months, from the ancient Chinese Medicine perspective. In this workshop, we will learn how to make potent tinctures to help boost your immune system . . .

You will be given all the herbs you need and instruction on how to make your own medicinal wine. Traditionally, herbal medicinal tonics are made the day of the full moon and kept for at least one moon cycle before use.  Just bring a clean glass milk bottle with lid, or 2-3 large mason jars, and a large bottle of vodka, brandy or red wine.  The full moon is two days after this class so you may want to take the herbs home and put everything together that day. . . Learn more
